Why winter adds time on this route

Freight moving between Ontario and the Maritimes runs through Quebec and New Brunswick, both of which see significant snow and periodic highway closures between November and April. Even when the roads stay open, reduced speeds and longer rest requirements in poor conditions add real hours to a multi-day haul.

Building a weather buffer into your delivery date

For time-critical freight during winter months, build in an extra 1 to 2 days beyond the standard FTL transit estimate, and 1 to 3 days for LTL, which has more handling points along the way.
